The majority of purchases in PlanetSide 2 are presented to the player at point of need, because of this we took the opportunity to streamline the store for the PlayStation 4 release.

The map in the PC version of PlanetSide 2 serves a number of purposes on a single screen with a zoomable view that is familiar and suited to mouse and keyboard interaction.
When translating it to the PlayStation 4 we needed to solve for several issues:
We went through extensive iterations, starting with UI/UX team collaboration on a whiteboard, moving to wireframing, and finally user testing, both internally and during our Beta phase. Our UI Designer, Richard Diamond, also went through extensive iterations on the readability of the game’s icons.
